MMRB is invited by Theatreworks to present a live installation for the opening of 72-13. Title. Black Bloc Party The black bloc is a phenomenon never demonstrated before in Singapore, therefore we need to thrust this movement into consciousness. Anarchists are not essentially after violence and chaos. Instead, they seek to create a society based upon individual freedom and voluntary co-operation. For our bloc party, weapons were replaced by smiley faces as tools of protest. The bloc party is to engage the guest in a silent ‘protest'. By giving the individual the option of picking out a unique cast, he or she is given control, and ultimately gets ‘frozen in time' with the artwork when he or she is projected onto the artwork. The individual is thus able to view the process of organizing a bloc party, and take part in the creation of the artwork. Information. 15 Sep 05: Mellow 16 Sep 05: Visuality 17 Sept 05: Audio Mohd Sultan Road, 72-13. By Invitation only. www.72-13.com ![]() |
